Designing with an iPad?: sketchbookb.com/journal/2018/7…
My six-year-old steps on a Lego and he goes into full World Cup soccer “injury” mode – rolling on the floor, grabbing his foot and screaming.
@dmoren At least you know that someone at Apple listens to Clockwise…
@jamesmiller She thinks the thin flat eggs, folded into a stack are “creepy and unnatural.” And eggs that are shaped to fit on a biscuit or english muffin — rectangles or circles — are also unnatural. She wants eggs that look like eggs.
@Jus7inCarrier I’ve played around with them. I like them, but it’s tough to break my 20+ years of experience with Adobe apps. I think it’s really valuable to have a suite of less expensive, non-subscription design apps.
Running errands with my 13-year-old daughter and I learned that she has very strong opinions about the eggs on fast food breakfast sandwiches.
Intrigued by the potential of Affinity Designer for the iPad. Serif is building a suite of pro apps that don’t require a subscription and work seamlessly across Mac and iOS. Excited to watch these apps develop and evolve. affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer…
I told my 10-year-old to stop reading in the dark. “It will hurt your eyes,” I said. ”That’s a lie parents tell their children,” she replied. “I saw the video on YouTube.”
Enjoyed this post from Seth Godin. A designer’s job is so much more than just designing logos or web sites… seths.blog/2018/07/but-ar…
@dmoren Fun read. Fun shirt. Highly recommend both. t.co/pq8RCena0…
I just noticed that I’m following 666 people. I need to add a few people…
@film_girl I’m about to head back to grad school part time. For various reasons, it makes sense for me, but I think your argument is completely correct. Deciding to get an advanced degree is not a simple decision and it really doesn’t make sense for everyone.
@dmoren What do I get if we post a shot of myself reading your book AND already wearing the shirt. Surely that’s worth something :)
Also, love the book and the shirt. Highly recommend both…
@willimac That’s exactly what I’m planning to do. I’m also debating some cross posting from Micro.Blog…
@zoovaldes Thanks! It was fun. I am absolutely working on a poster, a book and an exhibit.
I finished my 52 Shirts project. So happy with how the project turned out. sketchbookb.com/52-shirts/
@willbryandesign I need to start tracking my social time, too. Or wait for iOS 12 to track it all for me…
My issue with social media right now isn’t necessarily about privacy… It’s more an issue with return on investment. How much time am I putting into Facebook and Twitter and what am I getting out of it?
I’m seriously thinking about leaving Facebook and Twitter and just going with Micro.Blog and Instagram. I just don’t feel like I’m getting anything out of social media today…
Seth Godin on redefining “hurry.” This really resonated with me as a designer. seths.blog/2018/06/are-yo…
@schmolzp I’m playing around with designing some variable fonts… Let me know if you ever want to talk about variable fonts and how you’d want to use them.
I’m rattled by the suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. I had a recent talk with a friend about mental health and creativity, and the stress that designers, writers and other creatives put on themselves. Expectations are unrelenting and exhausting.
@ismh What a great space. Only slightly bigger than the room you use for the Pen Addict Live in Atlanta.
@thesilentperiod Glad it helped. Overprinting black in InDesign never really works how you expect it to…
@kerryrm Plaid?
