One of the oddities of going to grad school when you are older… sometimes you go to Starbucks to get some work done and your high schooler tags along so she can study, too.

@kerryrm You aren’t old. Because if you are old, then I….. have a child who is learning to drive….. nevermind. We are old.

@demozie @AJMediaHistory Congrats!

I voted in the South Carolina primary this morning with new paper ballot voting machines. Easy to use. Paper trail. I like them.

@carissadmck I do. I’ve actually been blogging for about 12 years. sketchbookb.com

@Leadership_Cola I loved my @Leadership_Cola experience. If you want to know more about how the city works and meet some amazing people in the process, check it out.

@UofSC_SJMC And a gold medal for outstanding use of university icons in a promotional graphic.

After a week of our oldest running a fever, it was good to see a glimpse of her finally feeling better tonight.

Each semester, there’s a point where the intersection of life, work and grad school is overwhelming. This week, I hit that point. People often wonder how I manage to balance everything. The truth is that sometimes, I don’t.

@JordanLawrence @ChrisTrainorSC Who was he trying to poison?

It’s Carolina Day. I’m an alum, a staff member, a grad student and an instructor. I’m unbelievably grateful for the opportunities that the University of South Carolina has made available to me and proud of the university’s impact on our state and world. #UofSCImpact

@sp8thegame I was working on a file I didn’t originally create and there was a rogue character style sheet causing font issues with the paragraph styles…

I was stuck with an irritating technical issue in InDesign today. I finally asked a colleague to look at it and he solved it within minutes. Just a reminder that no matter how experienced you are, it’s always wise to ask for help when you need it.

@daviddeweil I’m sorry. I’m not in charge of removing you from this listserv. Please contact the department that sent it.

This morning, someone at the university replied to a Listserv. Now my email is filled with people who don’t know that when you reply to a Listserv, you are replying to all subscribers. Sigh.

Turns out that CBS All Access released the first episode of Star Trek: Picard in the morning. So I watched it before I headed to work. Loved it, but I have so many questions. 🖖

Watched the SpaceX abort test live. Looks like everything went perfectly. Super impressive to see what SpaceX has accomplished.

“This tastes… soul-crushing.” My 15-year-old vividly describing the healthy breakfast cereal that she picked out.

Both of my daughters asked for math homework help tonight. Then I learned new (and clever) ways to deal with equations from both of them.

I’m taking a graduate media law class this semester. The last time I took a media law class, I had to recite first amendment aloud before the start of every class.

My first cup of coffee is still regular coffee, but I’ve switched to decaf for any additional cups that I drink. Trying to switch to hot tea and decrease my overall caffeine intake.
