Just saw that the Union Times (in Union, SC) is closing after 170 years. When I was doing research for a paper on the spread of Linotypes in rural South Carolina, the Union Times was one of the papers I highlighted. They raised $1,000 in 90 days to purchase a Linotype. t.co/z6skTcgxG…

Here’s my idea for a new ‘debate’ format. Let each candidate speak for 30 minutes without the other one on stage about their vision for America. Then allow moderators to ask questions of each for 15 minutes. 45 minutes per person. No crosstalk or interruption.
If you claim to be a Christian and support white supremacy, we may have the same bible, but we worship very different gods.
I think this will be the last election that we will have presidential debates. What presidential campaign in the future will ever agree to a trainwreck like this?

Today’s high-schooler baking achievement: Cream cheese danishes from scratch.
97% of my 8-year-old son’s issues with virtual school days are a direct result of an underpowered Chromebook and flaky Google apps.
So there are three possibilities:
- Trump broke the law to pay less in taxes.
- The US tax system has too many loopholes that let the rich legally avoid paying taxes.
- Trump broke the law AND the system is broken.
My baking-obsessed middle schooler was inspired by her baking-obsessed older sister… and now we have another plate of cookies.
