@kerryrm She let me have one. Really good. t.co/GRqyOsXJe…

@scarlett014j @thekatestewart Me, too.

Me: Shouldn’t you be heading to bed soon?

Baking-obsessed teen: But I’m making macrons for my friends.

@stephpendrys Sweet car. And nice front license plate. 👍

So Fox News hasn’t rescinded their call of Arizona and IF their decision desk calls Nevada… then could Fox News be the first news outlet to call the election for Biden?

@KaraSproles Yeah. But I think the error is too systematic. Too consistent.

The other idea I’ve heard is that it’s an intentional effort to mislead pollsters. Some kind of act of protest. But I’m not sure that explains the large polling error either.

@jamesmiller Right. Back before caller ID and cellphones, I believe you could get a decent sample. But now? It’s much tougher…

@jamesmiller I’m not sure the shy voter argument makes sense. Maybe it could create some variability… but I think there is more going on. There is something systematically wrong with the polling.

@kerryrm Ryan can tell you all about Jamie Harrison and Lindsey Graham and recite the ads beat for beat. He’s eight. Last night, he asked me who Chuck Schumer was… (Keep in mind that the Republicans and their PACs spent roughly the same amount of money in SC.)

So maybe the problem with polling is that no one answers their phone so you can’t actually get a representative sample.

@kerryrm @titonka YouTube and Hulu ads. Every single commercial for over a month.

@kerryrm Yeah. A friend of mine pointed out that for Jamie to win, he’d have to find a lot of Trump/Harrison voters. Those just don’t exist…

Jamie Harrison ran the best statewide campaign that a Democrat has run in this state for a very long time. I hate that it didn’t go his way, but it was always going to be a tough battle.

The line was about as long as it was for the first Obama/McCain election in 2008, although that line was probably longer, since we weren’t intentionally socially distancing.

I’ve been voting at this polling place for 16+ years. It was really nice to see the same familiar people running the polling place.

Some quick reflections on voting this morning. It took about an hour. Not too bad, actually. Almost everyone was wearing a mask, even though that’s (shockingly) not required for polling places in South Carolina.

@mrssoup Too funny. My daughters broke out the Christmas music today, too.

@cwinston75 Yes! We need to catch up soon.

I decided to vote in person, tomorrow, at my normal polling place. I wanted to make sure that my vote was counted. Planning on getting there early and waiting as long as I need to. It’s a small precinct and the lines have never been particularly long.

Today, I’m realizing just how much of a toll this election season has taken on me. Emotionally, I’m spent.

@jamesmiller Me, too. If a link only has a video, I move right along…

@amygracewells That emotion thing is so real. When I watch the news on TV, I’m much more emotionally invested – and I don’t think that’s necessarily a good thing.

@copyhacker YES! The visuals on local news sites are awful. Half the time, they don’t actually relate to the story. Instead they pull something from a similar story or topic.

@amyhrogers @thomharman @UpFirst I listen to a bunch of podcasts, but I don’t listen to any news ones. I may have to add a news podcast to my media mix and see if it sticks.

@RazManda I feel the same way. I’d much rather skim the text than click the video link, watch an ad, and then see if if the story is something I’m actually interested in.
