Got the call early this morning that my daughter’s school is virtual today because a large number of teachers called in sick late last night. I’m sure the board meeting last night where they refused to deal with rising COVID numbers had nothing to do with that.

So impressed by the new episode of The Mandalorian that released this morning.
I ordered a book from Amazon yesterday afternoon. It arrived via USPS today — on Thanksgiving. And while that’s impressive and all… I’d prefer that postal workers NOT deliver packages on holidays. They deserve a day off, too.
Even though it’s just the five of us, I’m pretty sure we made more food than we usually do.

I’m sad that this was an online only semester. I would have loved to get to know all of the new Ph.D students hanging around the grad suite. And I miss running into @DenetraWalker, @demozie, @CLaurenMyers, @CarmenLandy5 and everybody else.
Today, I wrapped up my final class of my Masters degree. I’ve got to finish my thesis next semester, but no more classes.

Sometimes, you wake up at 4 am and decide to rewrite a massive chunk of something you’ve been working on all semester.

I remain impressed with @UofSC’s COVID testing. I took my test yesterday afternoon and got my (negative) result this morning. Students, faculty and staff… there’s no reason not to get tested before Thanksgiving.
