@DenetraWalker Yeah. She’s been at every workout and conditioning session all summer and fall. And to find out 3 hours before tryouts start… She’ll have a shot to make the team, but it’s just another unexpected curveball.
Meanwhile, all of my middle school child’s friends are quarantined and my son’s school is shut down because of a high number of quarantines. So obviously, things are going great in all of District 5.
She doesn’t have any symptoms, but we’ll get her tested just in case. (And don’t misread this as criticism. I’m glad that the school is working to protect the community. Just sad for her.)
So she’s basically quarantined for two weeks. Her coaches are great and planned for contingencies like this. But I’m devastated for her.
My daughter’s lacrosse season was cancelled last year after three games. She’s worked ridiculously hard for the last year to be ready for tryouts that start tonight… so of course, this afternoon, she is identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive.
