I passed a massive fire at an apartment complex on my way home today. Fire trucks were just arriving. So incredibly sad. Prayers for those who have lost their home and for those who are fighting the fire.

My favorite story about the now-closed Vista Starbucks. sketchbookb.com/journal/2021/1…

Also, changed out the orange ESC key because its rivalry week. #gogamecocks

I’m using a Keychron K2 with my home set up now. Red switches. Love the clicky keyboard. I’m still getting used to typing on it. It’s very different than the MacBook Pro keyboard, but I love it so far. keychron.com/products/keych…

Three straight trips to @tacobell on Lake Murray Blvd in Irmo. Three straight incomplete orders. Never again.

Bought @affinitybyserif Designer, Publisher and Photo for my new MacBook Pro. Black Friday sale has everything 30% off. I can’t wait to see how fast they are on this M1 processor. affinity.serif.com/en-us/

@Kapelanski Nah. Just not taking any chances. 🤣

I wore a garnet sweater on the day South Carolina beat Florida. I didn’t wear it last week and we lost. Wore it today and we beat Auburn.

I guess I know what I’m wearing next Saturday.

I released two new versions of some of my older typeface designs this week — SbB Intermodal Stencil and SbB Power Grid. sketchbookb.com/journal/2021/1…

@a_j_w @clontz Wow. That’s crazy. Most of my students are seniors who need my class to graduate so they care about the grade.

@USCJan Kids today don’t understand how good they have it. 🤣

@clontz @a_j_w I was telling some students about his a couple of semesters ago. Dialing obsessively they kinda understood because they now check websites obsessively for grades. But waiting for the system to slowly and deliberately read out your grades completely blew their minds.

@cwinston75 I still think it’s funny that I still have my old email address from 1993. They reinstated it when I first became an adjunct 16 years ago and I’ve had it ever sense.

If you don’t know, T.I.P.S. was the University of South Carolina’s “Telephone Information Processing System.” You could do everything — register, drop classes, check grades — all from the keypad of your touchtone phone.

I’ve registered for my next semester of Ph.D. classes. So much easier than it used to be with T.I.P.S. 🤣

@yesevamoore I’d actually had my son ask the same question and forgot to look it up…

@yesevamoore The 1898 fire insurance maps show a bunch of spurs in the area to serve all of the warehouses. Looks like this one served a grocery warehouse and a couple of cotton warehouses. t.co/K9UnPBljZ…

You know… sometimes, things don’t work out and it’s frustrating. Then a couple of months later, you realize the setback wasn’t a setback at all.

Just a reminder that according to the US Flag Code: “The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever.” law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/8

@dovelove1097 @AdamNewshound12 @ColaSCWatchDog @RepRutherford That’s what I was thinking, too.

@zackdjames Unfortunately, the ‘drop C’ is still there. Even the students won’t steal it.

I expected South Carolina to hang with Florida. I didn’t expect my Gamecocks to destroy them. #gococks

Just dropped of my oldest to take the SAT. (I feel very old.)

@MattSplett He got one with my Cubs, too.

Vintage postcard. Fake Confederate. One big “unintentional hoax.” My quest to find the Capstone postcard: sketchbookb.com/journal/2021/1…
